The Red Sea has been a major dive destination for European divers since many years. At first, America and Australia paid little attention to this outstanding dive destination because it was thought to be not worthwile such a long flight. But continuous word by mouth propaganda amongst divers finally pushed the Red Sea forward and by today, Egypt has gained international recognition as one of the best and most flourishing marine environments on earth. The Red Sea still is an ocean of mysteries and surprizes. New dive sites and wrecks are discovered frequently here, and the marine life is very rich in contrast and colors. Some mystic example is the island Sarbagad with it's left open Olivinmines dating back to 1.600 b.C., the small Rocky Island with it's huge population of sea swallows, the Brother Islands, which emerge like needles from the unreachable depths of the ocean and the breathtaking scenery of the Daedalus Reef, which was to be visited only by a mere handful of divers since it was discovered.
